Launching a healthtech startup brand from stealth newco to real disruption
SUMMARY
A healthtech startup needed a go-to-market strategy and brand positioning, a name and visual identity, as well as ongoing marketing, content, and creative support – all to go from stealth newco to a disruptor in the industry on a mission to make healthcare more human with technology, not in spite of it. Today, they’re a global team with millions in revenue and – more importantly – millions of lives impacted.

The Client
Our client was, at the time, a stealth startup focused on building healthcare technology to help people lead happier, healthier lives. After a successful exit from a previous startup, their team of technologists, healthcare practitioners, and experts had a suite of products and services ready to partner with healthcare providers, payors, and pharmaceuticals.
The OPPORTUNITY
The CEO and founder, as well as the senior team, had a clear vision for their mission and purpose. They needed a brand platform that would allow them to partner with diverse healthcare organizations to build custom solutions, to have a strong POV on the role of technology in healthcare, and to build out sub-brands as they created new products under the parent brand.
At their core, they saw how technology is making things easier in every area of our lives – except healthcare. For a variety of complex reasons, the industry was lagging behind in its adoption of tools like AI, machine learning, IoT, etc. This is where our client saw their positioning opportunity.
PARTNERSHIP
We worked with our client for more than 3 years as they grew from a stealth startup to more than $9.5 million in revenue. We worked directly with their founder and CEO in a tight partnership that continues to this day, as well as his trusted core team who were building the company with him. Together with his team, we created the name, brand identity, and go-to-market strategy, and managed their lead generation, sales support, content marketing, social media, website, design, and creative production; as well as the creation and management of multiple sub-brands. We organized a pop-up event at SXSW, guerilla marketing and advertising campaigns, and the brand evolution as the company grew – including with 31% YoY growth.
What we did
We built a brand strategy as the foundation for the new brand. Our client had a unique perspective: That technology should actually make healthcare more human, not less. Done wrong, technology could be a force for depersonalization. Imagine a buggy chatbot instead of a doctor. But healthcare can be reimagined to be a human experience where your wearables are connected to your medical profile, artificial intelligence helps you prevent disease, and your care is integrated regardless of condition or provider. Their purpose would be to build this technology that makes healthcare more human: empowering, engaging, and effective.
OUTCOME
NewCo became Significo, a health technology company on a mission to make healthcare more human. Together, we helped launch Balm, Bunch, and Recco as products, and grow their audiences and healthcare partnerships. Their team grew, with offices in Austin, Berlin, and Spain – and most importantly they continue to impact millions of lives with their products.

“Alex and his team led us through our rebrand and full roll out. The thoughtfulness, research, and experience his team brought to the table was a persistent guide throughout the process. Highly recommend!” – Rick McCartney, SIGNIFICO CEO
