Our commitment to being a good brand

We believe in good brands: brands that know their audiences, make good things, and tell good stories. That’s why we named our agency Good Brands. We all interact with brands every day, and we think the world would be a better place if more brands were good brands. Good brands treat their audiences with empathy, care, and respect. They make a good product, create good experiences, and are a good company to work for. They understand their purpose, their value, and the experience of buying their product or service, and try to be the best version of themselves. And they treat people well, from employees to customers to partners to the world. 

We also believe good brands should be good actors in the world: ethical, sustainable, responsible. They should have integrity: they stand by what they say, hold themselves to a high standard, and keep their promises and commitments. 

And we wouldn’t be a good brand, or able to truly help brands be good, if we didn’t hold ourselves to these same standards and behaviors. 

That’s why Good Brands Creative is making two permanent, public commitments that will help us to be a good brand in the world: we’re a member of 1% for the Planet and the Clean Creatives pledge. Now and forever. 

1% for the Planet 

1% for the Planet is a global movement of businesses pledging to give 1% of their revenue – not profits – to environmental partners. The network was founded on the idea that businesses have a responsibility to give back for use of our planet’s resources. Each year, Good Brands will submit proof of our revenue and donations to 1% to the Planet to certify our environmental giving. Clean Creatives pledge 

The biggest part of any agency’s pollution footprint is the work they do for their clients — and the footprint of fossil fuel clients is massive.

Fossil fuel corporations are the world’s leading polluters, and the biggest greenwashers - and they have no substantive plans to change. Even as their campaigns focus on renewable energy, 99% of their investments are spent on producing more oil and gas. 

Clean Creatives is a movement of advertisers, PR professionals, and their clients cutting ties with fossil fuels. By signing this pledge, Good Brands will decline future contracts with the fossil fuel industry. 

Being a good agency 

We also pride ourselves on being a good agency to work with: positive, transparent, committed to the work, and passionate. One of our founding principles is we want to do the best work of our careers with our partners. This is why we charge by project, not by the hour; staff our projects with only senior creatives with deep experience; and keep overhead costs to a minimum so you pay for creativity, not bureaucracy.
